The "smartest money" on Wall Street is dumping stocks at the fastest pace in nearly a decade.

History says they’re making a massive mistake.

Here is the structural trap crushing hedge funds—and why the incoming S&P rally is about to trigger a monster BTC breakout: 👇

Morgan Stanley just flagged the biggest hedge fund de-grossing since 2017. Gross exposure is down over 8% since June.

Are they predicting a crash? No.
They are running for their lives from their own risk managers.

Multi-manager pod shops run on brutal drawdown rules:
• Drop 3%? Your capital gets slashed.
• Drop 5%? You get liquidated and fired.

When election uncertainty spikes, VaR models flash red and mechanically force leverage down. Add year-end bonus locks into the mix, and managers literally cannot afford to hold through binary headline risk.

They are selling because they are constrained, not because they are bearish.

Here’s the punchline:

According to J.P. Morgan data going back to 1950, the S&P 500 has finished higher 12 months after EVERY SINGLE MIDTERM ELECTION.

• Win rate: 100% (19 out of 19 cycles)
• Average 12-month gain: ~15%

Look at the last 4 cycles alone:
• 2010: +5.9%
• 2014: +6.8%
• 2018: +13.9%
• 2022: +16.2%

Every cycle runs the same script: "The Purge" shakes out leveraged paper right before the removal of political overhang launches a multi-quarter rally.

And this time, Bitcoin is riding shotgun.

bitcoin:native is no longer an isolated asset; it’s an institutional liquidity sponge:

• Trailing 1-year BTC/SPY correlation sits around +0.42.
• Rolling 60-day correlation routinely spikes above +0.75 during macro risk-on regimes.
• BTC trades with 3x–5x the beta of equities.

When global financial conditions ease and SPY kicks off its historical 15% post-midterm surge, Bitcoin doesn't just track—it multiplies.

The playbook is simple:
1. Midterms clear the political overhang.
2. S&P begins its 100% win-rate seasonal rally.
3. Liquidity pumps BTC to explosive multiples.
4. The funds de-grossing today will be forced to buy both back from you at a premium in Q1.

You never had to outsmart the geniuses on Wall Street.

You just had to know who is forced to hit sell and have the freedom to buy what they can't afford to hold.

🚨 $6.3 BILLION HACK, $1.6B LIQUIDATED, AND THE WORST MARKET BLOODSHED SINCE JUNE: Why the Data Says Bitcoin’s Next 7 Days Could Shock Everyone 🚨

If you survived Friday’s market close, take a breath. October 30, 2026, just went into the history books as one of the most violent risk-off sessions of the year.

Between a massive tech stock sell-off and a historic crypto exchange breach, billions were wiped off the board in hours.

Here is the full breakdown of Friday’s carnage—and what 6+ years of historical backtesting says happens to bitcoin:native next week 👇

---

📉 THE FRIDAY MASSACRE (OCT 30 RECAP)

Wall Street suffered its worst single-day wipeout since June as macro risk-off panic hit the tape:
• Nasdaq Composite: -2.86% (Closed at 25,437.00)
• S&P 500: -1.84% (Closed at 7,578.48)
• Dow Jones: -1.10% (Closed at 51,766.87)

How bitcoin:native Reacted:
Bitcoin opened the UTC session at $77,778.67, got dragged down to an intraday panic low of $76,320 during U.S. hours, and closed the day at $77,148.53 (~S$98,650). While that’s only a -0.81% daily close, it cemented a multi-day breakdown below the critical $79,000 support level.

🔥 THE CATALYST:
Sentiment completely fractured after news broke of a $6.3 BILLION security incident at Binance (though roughly $3B in affected assets were quickly frozen on-chain). Combined with plunging tech stocks, the panic triggered a massive $1.6 billion derivatives liquidation cascade.

📊 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? 3 HISTORICAL BACKTESTS FOR bitcoin:native

With Bitcoin sitting at a $77,150 baseline heading into the first week of November, emotions are screaming "crash." What does the hard data actually say?

We ran current market conditions against three historical backtested regimes:

1️⃣ The Bullish Signal: Oversold RSI + $1B+ Liquidation Flush
Right now, BTC’s 4H and Daily RSI are deeply oversold (under 30) while printing a textbook 4H bullish divergence right after a $1.6B liquidation wipeout.
• The Backtest (2020–2026): Whenever BTC suffers a single-event liquidation flush over $1B that pushes 4H RSI into oversold divergence, a relief bounce follows within 5–7 days 68% of the time.
• Median 7-Day Return: +3.8% to +5.2%
• Bullish Target: $80,000 – $81,150 📈

2️⃣ The Bearish Trap: Sub-50 EMA + Nasdaq Contagion
Here is the catch: BTC closed Friday below its 50-day EMA on the exact same day the Nasdaq tanked nearly 3%.
• The Backtest: When BTC trades below its daily EMA50 alongside a Friday Nasdaq drop greater than 2%, downside follow-through hits during the first half of the next week in 62% of instances before finding a true local bottom.
• Median Drawdown: -3.5% to -5.0%
• Bearish Target: $73,300 – $74,450 📉

3️⃣ Early November Seasonality (With a Catch)
• The Backtest (2013–2025): The first 7 days of November historically average a +2.4% return with a 64% win rate.
• The Nuance: In mid-cycle post-halving years (2018, 2022, and now 2026), entering November on negative momentum heavily mutes that seasonal tailwind.

---

🎯 THE VERDICT FOR NEXT WEEK

Don’t get shaken out by Monday/Tuesday volatility. The equity contagion backtest warns we could see an early-week liquidity sweep down toward $73.3K–$74.5K to shake out late longs—before the post-liquidation mean reversion kicks in to drive a relief rally back toward $80K.

Korean Blockchain Week 2026 roundup

It was great meeting old faces. VIP dinners and parties with KOLs. Seoul still does the social layer better than almost anywhere in crypto. The rooms were fuller this year, and the suits were no longer just visiting.

KBW2026 with Upbit ran 29 Sep–1 Oct at Walkerhill. FactBlock hosted. About 12,500 people, ~290 speakers, 120 sessions, plus the invite-only Upbit Institutional Summit on the 29th. Tickets sold out before doors opened.

The shift from prior years was obvious. Less “what’s the next narrative,” more “who actually clears, custodies, and settles.” Six tracks: policy, the next cycle, on-chain capital markets, 24/7 venues, the settlement layer, and AI × blockchain.

What actually mattered:

1. Agents need rails, not another L1 pitch
The line that kept coming back: an agent cannot open a bank account, pass a card check, or sign ToS. Wallets and tasks are not a payment system.

Arthur Hayes put FLOP on the main stage. A currency for agents, mined by doing inference. GPU providers earn the token. Agents spend it on compute and on other agents. Flop Labs: testnet late October, genesis Q1 2027. Still a concept with a date on it, not a live market.

0G’s Michael Heinrich argued transaction chains are the wrong base layer for this. His stack: Agentic ID, verifiable compute in TEEs, high-throughput decentralized storage. x402 (the HTTP 402 payment standard, now under a Linux Foundation setup) was the practical answer in the room. Coverage at the event cited 200M+ x402 transactions by mid-2026.

2. Korea is building its own money stack
Bank of Korea’s Sungguan Yun walked through Project Hangang. Wholesale CBDC as the settlement asset for bank-issued deposit tokens. Their framing: a middle ground between a CBDC and a stablecoin, so banks keep credit creation and payments get programmability.

Phase 1 (Apr–Jun 2025) was a proof of concept, ~81k users. Phase 2 started in September: 9 banks, up to 500k users, P2P, biometrics, and real government subsidy payouts through deposit tokens. Project Agora, the cross-border piece, was described as a rulebook in 2027 and live in 2028. A tokenized Korean government-bond pilot was flagged for 2027.

3. Won stablecoin is an access product, not a card killer
Lawmaker Min Byung-deok pushed three things: institutionalize a won stablecoin, pass a Digital Asset Basic Act, and open the market to institutions. Priority was 1:1 redemption and reserve verification, not the fight over how much banks must own.

BDACS, with Circle, Kyobo, and SBI, demoed a testnet swap of KRW1 against USDC via Circle’s StableFX. Their point was sharp: Korea’s card rails already work. The gap is agent micropayments, DvP and collateral for tokenized securities, and foreign capital reaching Korean assets. NHN KCP showed a full KRW-stablecoin commerce flow, payment through merchant settlement.

4. Tokenized securities now have a date
Capital Markets Act and Electronic Securities Act amendments take effect 4 February 2027. FSC roadmap: tokenized MMFs and bonds, then all public securities, then on-chain payments tied to stablecoins. Samsung SDS is building the KSD platform against that date. A BCG figure floated in the rooms: ~367 trillion won in Korean tokenized securities by 2030. Treat that as a scenario, not a forecast.

5. Upbit wants to export infrastructure, not just volume
Dunamu CEO Oh Kyung-seok’s keynote was “Beyond Trading.” Three conditions for Korea as a hub: access for global capital, connectivity to the won, and modules that can be exported. Customer base from retail to institutions. Geography from Korea to global. Product from trading into custody, transfer, and verification.

The backbone is GIWA, their OP Stack Ethereum L2, aimed at ~1-second blocks for payments. Still pre-mainnet. A fake GIWA chain had already drained users the week before. If it is not the official endpoint, it is not GIWA. The GASOK showcase covered DeFi/RWA, consumer and social, ZK auth, AI × Web3, and mass adoption.

6. Settlement and 24/7 markets
Stable pitched a USDT-native chain for real-world settlement. Tria pitched self-custody as a banking stack institutions and agents can build on, not a retail ideology. BitGo, newly accepted as a Korean VASP with Hana and SK Telecom behind it, was the institutional custody sponsor. Jeff Yan made the Hyperliquid case: fully on-chain perps are what pulled desks toward always-on markets. Joseph Lubin, weeks after the Consensys split, positioned MetaMask as a financial OS for stablecoins and tokenized stocks.

US policy was in the same rooms. Patrick Witt from the White House digital-asset council. Brian Quintenz on market structure after the CLARITY Act.

Credit Scend take

The parties were good. The signal was better. Seoul is no longer a retail-flow stop on the Asia tour. It is where a won money stack, a February 2027 tokenized-securities start date, and agent payment rails got argued in the same week.

Most of it is still a pilot, a testnet, or a statute that has not taken effect. That is the trade. The teams that ship custody, settlement, and compliance against those dates will matter more than the ones that only showed up for the dinners.

If you were in Seoul and building in stablecoins, RWA, or agent payments, come say hi.
