“We’re the bridge between vision and FDA approval.”

That’s how Victoria Gray, the first person treated with CRISPR gene editing for sickle cell disease, describes patients and family advocates. After speaking at our inaugural Genetic Agency Technology Conference (GATC) last year, she toured our lab and shared her story with the Dyno team.

Her challenge to the field: “To empower, we have to include, educate, and work together.”

China has rewritten the rules for investigator-initiated trials (IITs). Under Decree No. 818, trials now need national clearance, large-animal safety data and GMP-grade manufacturing before the first patient is dosed.

Tyson Bertmaring, our SVP of Partnership Success, traveled to China for the Chinese Society of Cell and Gene Therapy's third annual meeting, then toured hospitals, research centers, and manufacturers to see what 818 has changed since it took effect on May 1, and what it could mean for patients’ genetic agency.

The next generation of genetic medicine will be built at the intersection of biology and AI/ML.

That’s why the Genetic Agency Technology Conference (GATC) brings together AI researchers and builders tackling some of the biggest challenges in genetic medicine, alongside a lineup of patients, entrepreneurs, and therapeutic developers.

Meet some of the AI leaders joining us:

@SGRodriques, CEO, Co-founder of @EdisonSci

@joyjiao12, Life Sciences Research Lead at @openai

@anshulkundaje, Associate Professor at @Stanford

@genophoria, Core Investigator and AI Research Lead at @arcinstitute and Associate Professor at @UCSF

At #WMS2026, we shared data from a class of AI-designed adeno-associated virus (AAV) capsids that engage multiple cell-entry receptors.

In a late-breaking poster, Dr. Megan Cramer presented on the two lead capsids, characterized in mice and non-human primates (NHPs) at a dose 20x lower than existing muscle capsids require. Both demonstrated enhanced muscle delivery and low liver biodistribution following systemic administration in mice and NHPs at 5e12 vg/kg.
