#stlcards have been eliminated from the postseason race. What seemed inevitable entering the home stand is now official.

For the fourth consecutive year they will not see October, and that is the longest streak since the 1990s. #Cardinals #MLB

Just telling you how it’s taught at the MLB level and why. This is not debatable anymore. I explained how the time is made up and then gained over landing early and having to adjust.

I have had MLB infield coaches explain this to me many times and they have been in the room when I taught it. To 100% agreement.

We all used to think like your logic. “In air at all on contact and your beat.” We know now how and why it works. So you now have a choice also. You can keep teaching the way you did or teach it the way the best in the would do it. That is the beauty of coaching.

A good teaching cue is tell infielders “to land their prep step hop as the ball is crossing the plate.” They will naturally be a fraction late…which is perfectly on time.
