Ravens used had a great plan to run the football by using their 3 tight ends. Clever use of formation and motion to create an extra gap and give Derrick Henry easy access to the end zone. Playing defense today is harder than ever!

I love football, and especially coaching and leading young men. I've been around this game a long time, and I know the good ones when I see them.

Shout out to @CoachNickO1 for a big win last night. Down at the half, on the road, win or go home, and his guys found a way.

This one's personal. Nick coached my son Jett in 8th grade and took us to the Pop Warner national championship. That season is when I really saw Jett fall in love with playing the game. Nick builds a great environment, has no ego, and most importantly, connects with the kids. They feel it, and they play hard.

I can't stress this enough. For a family, the right coach is everything. Sadly, too few coaches get it. When you find one, you know.

Bittersweet on the other side. I've known a lot of those Chaparral players and their families for years and watched them grow up. Many of them feel like my own sons. That senior group has been through a lot. Their hard work didn't always match the results on Friday nights, but they kept showing up, and I'm proud of them.

This season I've seen Jett recapture the pure joy of playing again. I credit @coachconrad41. He's as good as I've been around. He runs it the right way, and he's the type of mentor young men need in their lives. It's been a privilege to be part of his staff.

Now we press onward!
Bye week behind us. #1 seed, defending champs, and a bracket full of the best teams in the state. We'll have to bring our A game every week. We've got a great group of young men, locked in, hungry and ready for the fight. Let's go!! @DMwolvesFB

A lot has changed since then. Watching Travis Hunter on tape this week, I can't think of any players who can MOVE like he does, Effortless. His instincts and feel for the game are phenomenal. He's not perfect, but he's well on his way to being the player Jacksonville traded up for. Both coordinators on the other sideline are going to have to game plan for him a lot sooner than I thought.

I’ve had the Patriots twice now. They are a defense that more people should be talking about. Their blitz package is especially underrated.
They are smart in the way they set up and call their blitzes, rarely leave their players out to dry and adapt and update their blitz strategy throughout the game.

One of my biggest pet peeves is running C/0 late and from depth! The advantage of zero is making the QB know he MUST get the ball out or face dire consequences. The secondary’s technique is based on knowing the ball has to come out under 2 seconds.

I also don’t love short-yardage “run” C/0 with the MLB covering the back. If it’s a pass, the offense can max it up, the MLB in no man’s land and the secondary is hung out to dry!

The Broncos sealed the game vs. the Bills in last year’s playoffs this way.
