Ant Group launched LingGuang 2.0, an upgrade that transforms its multimodal AI assistant into a proactive personal agent. Moving beyond responding to individual prompts, LingGuang 2.0 can identify potential needs, follow up on tasks over time, and coordinate everyday activities with user authorization.

Beyond the Alipay ecosystem, LingGuang 2.0 supports tools such as MCP and CLI, enabling collaboration across platforms and workflows. With integrations spanning email, DingTalk, Lark, Mi Home, and more, LingGuang is expanding AI assistance from personal information management to cross-platform task coordination and smart home control. Backed by Ant Group’s APASS security and account management service, it is designed to keep agents operating within user-authorized boundaries as they take on more complex tasks.

This August marks the 10th anniversary of Alipay Ant Forest, Ant Group’s green initiative that turns everyday low-carbon actions into tangible environmental impact.

Since 2016, more than 700 million people across China have joined Ant Forest, helping support the planting of 700 million trees in some of China’s most arid and environmentally fragile regions.

Over the past decade, Ant Group has invested more than US$759 million in tree-planting and ecological restoration projects initiated through Ant Forest.

The impact also extends to local communities. These initiatives have created approximately 5.2 million job opportunities and generated US$115 million in additional income for local communities.

Ant Group's 2025 Sustainability Report disclosed a record R&D investment of USD 5.17 billion (RMB 35.03 billion) in 2025—the fifth straight year of growth—alongside AI-powered green computing breakthroughs that contributed to cutting operational carbon emissions by 55.32% year-on-year. These milestones reflect Ant Group's commitment to sustainable AI development.
