The sticking point on the #tubestrike is the stuff being tagged onto the 4 day week deal which all drivers (even those staying on a 5 day) will have to accept. Among them: earlier&later start times. Less warning for cover shift changes and less time for non-driving.

The background to the new tube strikes is a voluntary 4 day week which the RMT wants in principle but doesn’t want to do it in 34 hours (with 1 hour paid meal break). It thinks that is too long in a cab and also doubts it is voluntary and is a move towards job cuts. 1/2
