War in #Yemen #SITREP | 07 November 2026 | The 3rd Division of the Yemen Emergency Forces @alfrqt7357, alongside Yemeni National Army @YemenAFMedia units from the government’s 6th Military Region, captured Houthi positions and took several fighters prisoner in the al-Marazeeq axis of al-Jawf governorate.

The Houthi positions were held by the 141st Brigade, which falls under the Houthis’ own 6th Military Region Command. Both the internationally recognized government and the Houthis maintain separate military commands bearing the same designation.

Government advances in al-Jawf have been slow but steady. For now, al-Jawf remains the most promising front for government forces in their ongoing campaign against the Houthis.

Voices from #Houthi-Controlled North #Yemen

A resident of Houthi-controlled Sana’a posted a video showing that he and a friend recently decided to walk through several commercial neighborhoods, partly for exercise and partly to see how the city was doing.

He said he was shocked by the number of businesses closing. Every few meters, they came across another clothing shop shutting down, a storefront advertising final clearance sales, or a business that had already gone bankrupt.

According to him, some of these shops previously paid landlords between 300,000 and 400,000 Yemeni riyals in rent.

He described the economic situation as dire, with businesses struggling to survive and commercial activity steadily declining.

His account offers another glimpse into the economic stagnation gripping Houthi-controlled Sana’a, where even once-busy commercial neighborhoods are showing signs of prolonged economic distress.

A Syrian diplomatic source told the official Syrian News Agency @Sana__gov that current military agreements between Syria and Saudi Arabia focus on training, exchanging expertise, and military consultations.

The source said Saudi delegations will begin coordination visits to Syria next month to support military training and capacity building.

The cooperation could eventually develop into a mutual defense agreement or Syria’s accession to the Mecca Alliance, depending on shared interests.

The source also denied reports that Syria plans to send troops to Yemen, calling them baseless. Syria’s immediate priorities remain strengthening internal security, reconstruction, and economic recovery.

Voices from Houthi-Controlled North Yemen

“This is Guantanamo.” That is how Abu Sukaina al-Sufyan, former head of medical staff at the Houthi-run military hospital in Taiz, describes his former workplace. He alleges discrimination, corruption and medical neglect, including against wounded fighters loyal to the Houthis.

Al-Sufyan still supports Abdulmalik al-Houthi. He says he spent six years filing complaints through official channels before speaking publicly, despite the risk of retaliation.

He alleges that wounded fighters from Taiz, including members of the al-Suhaybi and border guard brigades, receive worse care than personnel from Hajjah and Saada. He describes a fighter shot in the colon whose CT scan and treatment were delayed. By contrast, he says a supervisor from Hajjah could obtain ED medication immediately.

According to al-Sufyan, the hospital receives 20 million Yemeni riyals a month, with 8 million allocated to salaries, yet lacks a general surgeon and permanent specialists in urology and ENT. He alleges that inadequately trained military nurses perform some procedures and that essential medicines are withheld.

He also says salaries are reduced or altered when employees miss Wednesday cultural indoctrination lectures. Hospitals, schools and public offices are used for Houthi political and religious events, he says, and nonattendance carries consequences.

He describes sleeping in a basement or on a balcony while favored northern personnel received rooms. He says donors, not the hospital budget, funded facilities including the dialysis center. Even Sultan al-Samei, a Taiz native on the Houthi Supreme Political Council, reportedly could not resolve his complaints. Staff who challenge management or seek to leave, he alleges, risk intelligence questioning or detention.

The wider context matters. Taiz is part of Yemen’s central highlands, with longstanding tensions involving the northern tribal highlands, the Houthis’ traditional base. The Houthis’ September 2026 campaign to seize the remaining government-held parts of Taiz, and the siege of Taiz city, have sharpened these divisions.

Within the movement, senior posts are widely perceived as favoring networks from Saada and Hajjah, including northern Hashemite families. Taizi supporters have privately complained of second-class treatment. Al-Sufyan’s account brings some of those grievances into public view.
