The best example for roster building/roster construction is the @Brewers. They have an elite player development program that feeds the roster. When players leave in free agency they have options in the minors at multiple levels. They don’t panic, when Aaron Ashby didn’t work as a starter instead of shipping him off they allowed him to be an elite bullpen arm. Congrats to Matt Arnold and staff!!!
@colts get a 3rd and 5th to send a all pro guard on a expiring contract to the new colts GM’s former employer @Seahawks. Colts would have gotten a 3rd compensatory for Nelson when he signed elsewhere after the season. So basically netted a fifth.
