Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on the countless families and communities forever impacted by that day.

As a school community, we recognize the importance of remembering our shared history and helping future generations understand the significance of September 11.

Today from 4:30–6:30 PM, West Chicago Community High School will host our annual College & Career Fair, connecting students and families with incredible opportunities for their future.

But before tonight’s big event, our AVID 10 students kicked off the day in the best way possible — by hosting a Mock Career Fair for freshmen and fellow sophomores during Den!

After completing interest surveys in AVID, students were matched with career fields and spent hours preparing thoughtful, engaging presentations to share with their peers. Their hard work, leadership, and positivity truly set the tone for a day focused on future possibilities.

A huge shoutout to AVID 10 teachers Emily Hernandez and Michelle Walters for creating meaningful, real-world learning experiences that empower our Wildcats to explore their passions and plan ahead.

We are proud of our students for stepping up, leading, and helping one another envision what’s next.

Yesterday, our Music Department welcomed nearly 150 eighth-grade musicians to WCCHS for our annual Middle School Music Festival—a tradition that brings future Wildcats into the heart of our music community.

Throughout the day, our WCCHS music students mentored and rehearsed with the visiting middle school musicians, building confidence, connections, and excitement for what awaits them in high school.

— for creating an experience that inspires young musicians and nurtures their love for music.
