The Intl. Monitoring System (IMS) listens to the oceans and the earth for signs of nuclear test explosions, every hour of every day. That same data also reaches national tsunami warning centres in near real-time, under agreements with the States Signatories that operate them, supporting the warnings they issue. 🇧🇩 In Bangladesh, a #CTBTO mission successfully upgraded seismic equipment at auxiliary seismic station AS007 in Chattogram, confirming data transmission to the International Data Centre (IDC) in Vienna.

Working with the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), the National Data Centre of Bangladesh (NDC-BD) and local staff, the mission also strengthened national expertise through a two-day technical workshop.

With support from the European Union, this work helps strengthen global capabilities to detect nuclear test explosions under the #CTBT. 🌍
