The experiences throughout Dan Patterson’s military career have made him “passionate about the service and ministry that is available to service members” who belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The retired Army lieutenant colonel and manager for Church Military Relations said he is excited for the Church’s continuing efforts to “nourish (see Moroni 6:4) military members of the Church who experience significant life transitions without traditional family and friend support networks.”

The Church strives to minister to military members, veterans and their families through faith, belonging and Christ-centered support wherever they serve. Improved access to resources for military members, their families and the leaders who support them includes a way to recognize military service in the Gospel Tools app and an updated website.

This year, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ production of “Savior of the World: His Birth and Resurrection” on Temple Square will be presented as a concert with performances over two days and a live broadcast, rather than a month-long production of the full musical.

Because of preparations for the 2027 Salt Lake Temple Celebration and the closure of the Conference Center, the sacred musical drama that presents the life, mission and divine nature of Jesus Christ will be a concert version of Act 1, which focuses on the anticipation and celebration of the Savior’s birth.

The “Savior of the World” concert will be held on Friday and Saturday, November 27–28, 2026, in English and ASL in the historic Tabernacle on Temple Square, at 7:30 p.m., with an additional Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. The 70-minute performances are free, but tickets are required. Tickets become available on Tuesday, November 10, at 10 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time.

The concert on November 28 will be streamed live in English and ASL on the Church’s YouTube channel and Broadcast.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and will be available later in Gospel Library.

Church’s ‘Dedicate’ Series Now Streaming on Prime Video

Following a strong positive response to “Dedicate,” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced today that the first-of-its-kind series is now available on Prime Video.

Since the first episode premiered on October 4, 2026, the Church’s YouTube channel has garnered nearly 3 million views. Watch-party screenings took place in Brazil, France, Ghana, Mexico, Japan, the Philippines and the United States as new episodes became available each week.

The series is one of several ways millions of people are anticipated to connect with and participate in the Salt Lake Temple Celebration both digitally and in person. This is a global effort that will culminate with the opening of the Salt Lake Temple to visitors from April to October 2027.

To make the episodes available to an even wider audience, the Church has released “Dedicate” on Prime Video. It still remains available to watch on the Church’s YouTube channel and Church-owned platforms in 12 languages.
