Saffron, a nursing wild horse, her two-year-old sister and another foal were killed during a Bureau of Land Management roundup in Wyoming. BLM says all three were blind. Advocates dispute that assessment, pointing to footage of Saffron moving alongside her mother.

More than 15,000 people have signed a petition by Clare Staples, founder of @skydogsanctuary in Bend, Oregon, calling for an investigation and for Saffron’s surviving family to be placed at the sanctuary.

Gov. Gavin Newsom just announced his decision to replace all 548 California death sentences with life in prison without parole. A petition started by former California Senate Majority Leader @GloriaJRomero is calling for those death sentences to stand.

Those affected would remain in prison for life. Some of the commutations still require California Supreme Court approval.

Holistic nurse and content creator Jasyra Santiago-Hines is calling on Target in a new petition to make dye-free the standard for all kids' food, not just cereal. Target already committed to taking synthetic dyes out of the cereal aisle, and she wants the retailer to go further.

Fruit snacks, gummies and candy still aren't covered, and Target's own website lists Red 40 and Yellow 5 in its Favorite Day Gummi Worms. She's asking Target to extend its cereal standard and publish a plan within 90 days.

In the wake of the midterms, people are turning to change.org to share what they want to see next.

Among the growing petitions is one with more than 925,000 signatures calling on House Democrats to put forward a speaker candidate other than Hakeem Jeffries ahead of the January 2027 vote.

"If his name is put forward again, House members will have a choice to make. Hakeem Jeffries is simply not the right choice," the petition reads.
