These are 4 things I think should change while fully acknowledging that there is no perfect system:
1) League sizes should be similar (within 1 of each other). (4 leagues with 5, PIL 9). Results in more consistent non-league comparisons.
2) Point Differential should be (cont)

@DereLawrence @CoachSkin I see argument for revising how rankings are calculated but think bringing human bias into it is not great and it’s nearly impossible to find neutral observers who have seen enough of teams from Portland all the way down to Medford to make objective ranking decisions.View quoted post on X
I don’t disagree that recruiting in this state is out of control & needs to have some enforcement by OSAA….Trust me. But to have a league that plays only 1 non-league game, against mostly non-top tier teams, and then get the benefit of a weak conference is not right for rankings
Everyone saying the PIL seeding in the playoffs is a crime. The real crime is other schools poaching PIL kids for their benefit.View quoted post on X

I gave a clinic talk two years ago titled: What It Takes: Being a Head Coach and was asked to do so because there is no playbook for being a head coach. So much of the job is learned on the fly for most coaches, even those with years of assistant/coordinator experience.
I'm very proud of this book I wrote, as nobody on earth has undertaken such a task to actually help coaches!!
