Serving this state and being our party鈥檚 nominee has been the honor of a lifetime. While tonight鈥檚 result was not what we hoped for, I am grateful for every supporter, volunteer, staff member, friend, and family member who stood beside us.
After losing my beloved brother Lindsey, your prayers and kindness carried our family through some of our hardest days. That love means more than words can express.
I have congratulated Annie Andrews and wished her and her family well. Though this campaign has ended, my love for South Carolina and my belief in America鈥檚 promise remain steadfast. Our work continues, and I still believe our best days are ahead.
