Dude Bro Party Mattsacre III

Just a reminder that you can find me on Bluesky, Instagram, Letterboxd and TikTok if ya want to!

"A film about pleasure-droid entrapments and assholes in Hallmark protagonist clothing should hit harder, but Companion still lands its punches."

I liked COMPANION—the AI-worried, not-so-romantic comedy—even though it feels detrimentally formulaic even with that description.

THE MONKEY (2025): "Midnight Movie" bliss. Oz Perkins ditches his signatures for a gallows comedy that explodes with gore. It's so funny, it's so bloody, and Perkins never takes his foot off the gas. It's early, but already predicting it'll be one of the bloodiest movies of 2025.

"Wolf Man lacks scares, suspense, and surprises; it’s like a bizarro The Invisible Man."

It pains me to report that WOLF MAN is a defanged, neutered letdown.

PETER PAN'S NEVERLAND NIGHTMARE wants to be The Joker for a few minutes, It for a scene, and then The Black Phone for most of the rest — really fails the Peter Pan of it all.

Another dud for the "Poohniverse" aka Twisted Childhood Universe.
