Good and Bad News for Westerners:

I have some good news and some bad news. Good news? We can still turn this around. We still hold enough of the public sphere still operating on free information, to fight back against what’s looking like a #Caliphator onslaught.

The bad news. You got to give up your deep-seated anxieties and resentments about Jews and take us as your partners, even sometimes leaders, in the battle.

The key to the present situation:

Those who hate you, who call you infidels, want to destroy us (the most annoying infidels) so they can subject you.

And as long as you think Hamas is resisting Israeli genocide, you are a captive of their war narrative concocted out of whole cloth for your consumption, asking you to blame the Jews and cheer on their genocide.

The reason you believe it is because your own mainstream news media seem to be taking orders from your enemies and tell you what the jihadis waging war on the infidels want you to hear.

And escaping that suicidal delusion is not easy.

It means you have to stop believing every scrap of news poisoned with tales about Jews behaving badly, you have to still your outraged compassion, stop allowing your enemy to manipulate you by exploiting your worst instincts.

From the future free historian’s view (say fifty years hence), in the mid-2020s it looks like you Westerners would rather submit to a horrible enemy than release the Jews from your systemic, millennia-long contempt for and fear of them.

I guess that is a big ask. Not in money or time, but in courage, self-criticism, and understanding. And yet, think of the messianic dividends such valor might bring to the cognitive theater of war against so grotesque but successful enemy (not to proselytize or anything).
