Meet Pete Dao, an Environmental Engineer in @eparegion4's Superfund and Emergency Management Division.

For Pete, what began as a temporary career opportunity became a lifelong commitment to environmental protection and public service.

His appreciation for his work deepened as he witnessed its impact on people’s lives. Conversations with community members who shared their experiences with cancer and other illnesses potentially linked to chemical exposure at contaminated sites gave him a greater understanding of the importance of his work.

Pete is recently proud to have encountered a community member near one of EPA’s sites, and provide her with information and assurance that the agency is looking out for her health.

Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

Pete graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a remedial project manager with more than 35 years of experience.
Outside of work, he spends his time with family, enjoying outdoor activities like fishing and camping, and playing tennis.
