Today, we celebrate Marie Skłodowska-Curie's birthday and her remarkable achievements: the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, the first scientist to win it in two different categories, and the only laureate in two scientific fields.

Her name lives on through the EU's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, supporting researchers across Europe and beyond, helping advance scientific discovery.

👏 Here's to Marie and the next generation of scientific pioneers!
A scrapbook page featuring a colorized vintage photograph of a young Marie Skłodowska Curie standing next to a table, taped with yellow masking tape. Next to the photo are drawn test tubes and a dried leaf. Text at the bottom reads: "Marie Skłodowska Curie. Born in Warsaw on November 7, 1867".
A scrapbook page about Marie Curie's achievements, featuring a colorized photo of her working in a laboratory, alongside a smaller historical group photo. Typewriter and handwritten-style text reads: "She was the first woman scientist to win a Nobel Prize ...and the first person to win the prize twice".
A scrapbook page featuring a colorized photograph of Marie Curie holding glowing test tubes in a laboratory. It includes scientific illustrations of glassware, handwritten notes, and a famous quote: “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood”.
The final scrapbook page featuring a colorized portrait of an older Marie Curie inside a Polaroid-style frame with her signature ("M. Skłodowska Curie") below it. The page is decorated with dried flowers and scientific illustrations, with script text reading: "Now is the time to understand more so that we may fear less".

We preliminarily found that TikTok’s ‘For You’ feed has a harmful design.

It shows users endless and repeated exposure of personalised videos, even when those have a negative effect on mental health.

While TikTok has implemented measures to mitigate this risk, we consider them insufficiently effective and call for readjustment.

Europe has so much more to explore.

Our new Sustainable Tourism Strategy aims to make travel easier, helps EU destinations manage crowds and supports local businesses.

We want better trips for visitors and better tourism for locals. 💙
