ONSHORE AMERICA🇺🇸

20 years, America led the world in testing electronics. More devices were tested at labs located in the U.S. than in any other country. Indeed, over 30% of all electronics were tested here.

Then, the FCC and officials in Washington flung that entire industry—its jobs, its investments—to the far corners of the globe. Today, less than 4% of all electronics are tested at labs located in the U.S.

It gets worse. While the U.S. continued to allow into our country electronic devices tested at labs located in foreign nations, we stopped insisting on reciprocity or fair dealing. Flash forward to today, and over 80% of all electronics are tested in countries that refuse to allow into their country any device tested at a lab located in America. This is not consistent with basic notions of reciprocity or fair dealing. And this has been a bad deal for America, American workers, and U.S. industry.

The FCC has now voted to reverse this trend.

Going forward, our new rules will insist on reciprocity. Either test your devices at labs located in America or do so in a country that recognizes the work of U.S. labs.

A good and common sense win.
