FMCSA's Montana Division joined Montana Motor Carrier Services at the Butte weigh station for Operation Safe Drive, conducting roadside inspections to identify unsafe trucks and drivers.

Have you heard? The FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database, is now the FMCSA Complaint Center, and it has received an update!

Along with an improved user experience, the FMCSA Complaint Center now includes expanded complaint categories, making it easier to report concerns involving:

👉 Property Brokers
👉 Entry-Level Driver Training/Training Provider Registry (ELDT/TPR)
👉 Intermodal Equipment Providers
👉 Registration-related Fraud and Identity Theft

These updates help strengthen the tools available to identify and report concerns across the commercial motor vehicle industry.

🚛 When it comes to roadway safety, compliance matters.

FMCSA recently partnered with Maryland State Police, @TheMDTA, Maryland Department of the Environment, and @MDComptroller for Operation Highway Shield, a coordinated effort to identify safety and compliance violations through roadside inspections.

Here's what the operation uncovered:

🔍 941 commercial motor vehicle inspections conducted
🚫 92 drivers placed out of service
🚫 191 vehicles placed out of service

These numbers highlight the importance of roadside inspections and consistent enforcement.

When drivers or vehicles fail to meet safety requirements, placing them out of service helps address potential hazards and reduce risks to everyone traveling our roads.

Compliance, inspections, and enforcement all play an important role in protecting the traveling public.
