The Orange defense is playing with some incredible energy right now. Took a second-and-goal from the 1 yard line to a fourth-and-goal from the 30.

Syracuse was a massive sack on Kevin Jennings on a third-and-goal to push the Mustangs back to the 23-yard line. After SMU marched down the field most easily, the Orange's defense tightened the screws in the red zone to limit SMU to three points.

Very significant play for Angeli, who looked uncomfortable running on that rehabbed Achilles at several points this season. Has to feel good for the Syracuse quarterback.

Steve Angeli takes to the house for a 26-yard rushing touchdown. Impressive stuff from Angeli, who escaped the pocket then accelerated to take it to the end zone. Tripp Woody also converted the PAT for a 7-0 SU lead at the 10:04 mark of the 1Q.
