America just repudiated the Trump Administration’s violent lawlessness and rampant corruption on Tuesday night. The people clearly want to restore our wounded body politic to health, but Donald Trump’s staff infection just got infinitely worse.

Hiring Stephen Miller as Chief of Staff guarantees more violent paramilitary tactics in American communities, more bloody forever wars, more trillions added to the national debt, more idiotic tariffs, more inflation and more corruption.

How’s that for a presidential olive branch after running a nasty campaign of lies and threats and then losing in an historic landslide wipeout?

As America’s new Congress gets ready to launch real oversight over this lawless president and the entire executive branch and all of the corruption flowing through and around them, we offer this word of advice to the wise in both the government and private sectors: don't start shredding documents, deleting emails or engaging in any other kind of obstruction of justice or destruction of evidence.

It will make matters a lot worse for you in Congress and in the courts.

The vast majority of Americans, in the cities and the countryside, the suburbs and the exurbs, delivered a massive and unmistakable repudiation of the Trump Administration's lawlessness and corruption on Tuesday night. Today, some of the people who enabled some of his most dangerous abuses of power and illegal conduct at the Justice Department are running scared—and resigning.

Harmeet Dhillon turned the storied Civil Rights Division sharply against the American people, attacking the constitutional rights she was supposed to defend. She pushed out experienced civil rights attorneys and nonpartisan professionals so she could pursue the president's personal vendettas and petty grievances, launching baseless investigations aimed at intimidating and harassing universities, community colleges and medical schools; state and local governments that the President disliked; and anyone who dared to exercise their First Amendment rights in a way the president disapproved of. She doggedly pursued Trump’s paranoid and hallucinatory voter fraud fantasies.

Let Dhillon and every official in this Administration be on notice: resignation does not excuse you in any way from your legal duty to answer for your conduct before Congress and the American people we represent. Preserve all your records, destroy none of them and prepare to testify truthfully under oath.

It's time to restore the rule of law in America and end all the presidential lawlessness. Trump’s DOJ is responsible for:

-Covering up the murders of Alex Pretti and Renée Good by DHS agents
-Trying to indict and prosecute dozens of innocent Americans to cover up for Trump’s own massive crimes and policy debacles
-Granting the Trump family a SUPER pardon while trying to set up a $1.776 billion slush fund for violent insurrectionists and partisan foot soldiers

Accountability is coming.
