Hope is not simply believing everything will work out.

Hope has three important components:

1. Goals: Knowing what you're working toward.
2. Agency: Believing you have the ability to make progress.
3. Pathways: Identifying ways to get there, even when obstacles emerge.

For coaches, this matters.

You aren't just responsible for motivating athletes. You're helping them develop the ability to pursue meaningful goals and navigate challenges.

Hope can be developed. It can be practiced. And it can change how people approach adversity.
