Congratulations to Shai Mizrahi on his election to the UN Independent Audit Advisory Committee (IAAC), the General Assembly's advisory body on audit and oversight, the first Israeli to serve on it since its establishment. The IAAC advises the General Assembly on audit, internal oversight and accountability across the UN. For Israel, his election brings an Israeli professional voice to the heart of UN oversight. We thank all Member States for their support!

Ambassador @ShuliDavidovich:

A warm greeting to all #Cypriots!

I am delighted to begin my journey as #Israel's Ambassador to this beautiful island. I look forward to discovering its rich culture and traditions, meeting its people and building even closer connections between our two countries 🇮🇱🇨🇾

It is both an honour and a great privilege to serve in Cyprus. My goal is to build on the many existing connections, further strengthen our strategic partnership, and the diverse areas of cooperation. I also wish to make Israel more accessible to the people of Cyprus.

The bonds between the two peoples are rooted in our present-day friendship but also in a shared history. Almost 80 years ago, Cypriots opened their hearts to Jewish refugees and #Holocaust survivors on their journey to Israel, an act of kindness that is part of our common heritage.

I have a deep love for the sea, nature and music, and I am certain that Cyprus will offer many opportunities to enjoy all these things, alongside its wonderful culture and welcoming atmosphere.

Coming from an Orthodox #Jewish home, I place great value on family and tradition, values that our two societies share.

Είμαι πολύ χαρούμενη που βρίσκομαι εδώ και ανυπομονώ να γνωρίσω την #Κύπρος και τους ανθρώπους της!

May the special friendship between our two countries continue to flourish!
תקוותי שהידידות המיוחדת בין המדינות תמשיך לפרוח!

Francesca Albanese is an unhinged conspiracy theorist consumed by her obsessive hatred of Israel.

Her vile lies and grotesque accusations are a disgrace to the @UN.

@FranceskAlbs must go.
