In April, '17, @jsomers of @NewYorker reached out & said he wanted to do a small profile of me & my longtime colleague Sanjay Ghemawat, watch us work for a few hours, maybe dinner, etc.

It came out today. I think it captures our working style really well. newyorker.com/magazine/2018/…

I'm delighted to partner with @LaudeInstitute (along with my @Sanjay_Ghemawat, John Hennessy, Dave Patterson, Ben Gomes and @andykonwinski) to support funding of open science moonshots!

anyone who is close to research knows how broken the incentives are. doing open science at the frontier is harder than ever, compute costs alone price most teams out. we kept wondering what might happen if we give the right resources to the right researchers at the right time?

Election Tuesday is just two days away. For those eligible to vote in the U.S., please make time to go to the polls to vote (or mail in your ballot if you haven't already). Voting is a great privilege of living in a democracy and how we all make our collective voices heard. 🗳️
