This #SchoolNutritionEmployeeWeek, we are proud to spotlight Dawn Soto, Sr. Training Specialist, whose passion and creativity help make healthy meals meaningful for students every day.

One moment that stayed with Dawn was during Café LA Ray student assemblies, when students lit up with excitement while learning about healthy eating in a fun and engaging way. It was a reminder that healthy meals can help students feel connected, cared for, and inspired to build positive habits.

For Dawn, every tray is an opportunity to nourish a child and create a positive experience around healthy foods through care, creativity, and innovation. Thank you, Dawn, for supporting student success with compassion and commitment every day.

📚✨ At Gardena High School, every shelf holds a new possibility. For School Library Month, we’re spotlighting Lucas Andres Gorham, Teacher Librarian, who believes the right book can change a life. 🌟

Inspired by The Awakening of Malcolm X, Mr. Gorham is creating a library where students can explore new ideas, build knowledge, and discover who they are. Whether students are diving into manga, flipping through cookbooks, exploring self help titles, or finding books in Spanish, curiosity is always part of the story. 📖✨

By welcoming students into the library early in their high school journey, he’s helping shape confident readers, researchers, and lifelong learners ready for college, career, and beyond.

The library isn’t just a place to study, it’s where students begin writing their next chapter. ❤️📚
