I was very pleased to contribute my thoughts to this meeting in Westminster

The EU and the UK are natural and essential defence partners. They need to elevate that dimension of cooperation over other elements of their relationship that aren't always smooth
APPG Europe @AppgEurope Apr 4, 2025
This week, the APPG on Europe held a meeting on the future of UK–EU foreign, security and defence cooperation.

The Commission has been floating such ideas for a while. The figure of 392 billion mentioned in the piece is = all cohesion funding in the current EU budget.

It was a pleasure to moderate the grand finale of the CER/AIG geopolitical risk series.

We are grateful to @AIGemea for their support over the last five years, and to the many speakers, especially from the @GermanyDiplo and @Der_BDI who featured in our discussions.
Thank you to @HConleyGMF, @cjetzlsperger, Anna Kantrup @Der_BDI & Laura von Daniels @SWPBerlin for joining us yesterday for our final @CER_EU/@AIGemea Geopolitical Risk Series webinar on 'What the US election result means for transatlantic relations', chaired by @LScazzieri. 🇺🇸

Happy to contribute my thoughts to this CER analysis of the implications of Trump's second term for Europe:
Trump’s policies promise to usher in an era in which the US economy continues to expand strongly whilst hurting growth in the rest of the world – especially in large exporting economies like the eurozone and China. 🇺🇸 🇪🇺
