The $350 million deal behind a $20 billion chip business.

2011: a chip startup called Annapurna Labs is founded in Yokneam, Israel.

January 2015: Amazon buys it. The price was never disclosed. Reports put it at about $350 million.

The team goes on to build Amazon's own chips, including its AI chips. BNN Bloomberg sized that custom chip business at more than $20 billion a year in June 2026.

Palantir's latest quarter: $2.31 billion in revenue, up 96% from a year earlier.

Its US commercial business grew even faster: $984 million, up 148%.

For next quarter, the company is guiding to about $2.65 billion.

That's the size of the move. Many of the AI companies chasing the same demand raise their money in private, before anyone can buy in.
