Luke Rubin

Not enough people are aware of Landen Joseph. The Marshall freshman is a tenacious defender and smooth operating guard.

Joseph is currently 5th in the entire Sun Belt in Evan Miya’s BPR (3.48).

Other stats from his freshman campaign so far:

TS%: 59.7
DR%: 14.4 (listed at 6’2”!!!)
ARate: 25.6
Stl%: 3.9
FTRate: 41.9

Up and coming star!!!

Manyuon’s BPR skyrocketed after his incredible debut yesterday.

Couldn't have scripted a better season opener for Corny and Co. Marshall shot 54% from the field and 42% from deep (11/26). We had questions about the offense, but they showed why the staff was confident in them all offseason. The ability to get into the paint opened up some of the shots outside. 42 paint points. They have guys that can make outside shots: Oshodi, Manyuon, Slay. Maker controlled the paint and both Harding and Djigo were really solid off the bench. This very well may be the deepest team MU has had in the Corny era. Only 11 turnovers and 17 fouls, which you will take all day. Those two stats have plagued MU over the years. Oh and btw JJ Starling was 1/4 for 4 points with 3 TOs in 32 minutes of action.

Emmanuel Manyoun was the best player on the floor. He dominated both ends. Slay was efficient. Otshudi was controlled.

This is game 1 of a marathon season. It won't be as easy at tonight was, but a really encouraging start.

Toledo comes to town Saturday.

Emmanuel Manyoun, welcome to the Marshall Universe. What a debut.

Here we go. Game 1. First real look at this year's squad. Can't wait.

Buffalo had one preseason exhibition against Mercyhurst. They won 71-66. JJ Starling will be Buffalo's best player, the Syracuse transfer put up 14/8/7 in their lone exhibition game. Big time scorer. The 6'4" guard dropped 38 on Youngstown State during his junior season. Similarly to the Herd, Buffalo has a ton of new players, 11 to be exact. 10 of those are transfers. Two completely new rosters facing off in game 1. Should be fun.
