October is National Arts and Humanities Month!

At the MSU Museum, creativity, curiosity, and collaboration bring people and ideas together. As #NationalArtsAndHumanitiesMonth wraps up, take a look back at some of our favorite moments from October!

An Ojibwe woman with dark dark hair, a tattoo featuring a ring of feathers around her wrist, and wearing a black flowing shirt, holds up an example of porcupine quill art on a small round circlet of birch bark. The art features a colorful hummingbird and a border of sweetgrass.

An Ojibwe woman and an Asian woman smile and laugh together at a porcupine quill art workshop. The Ojibwe woman holds a long strand of red and orange thread.

A closeup of tan hands doing porcupine quill artwork, with colorful dyed porcupine quills weaving in and out of birch bark. The design in progress features a strawberry plant.

An Ojibwe woman, Amber Waboose-Kimewon, laughs while demonstrating porcupine quill artwork for attendees at a workshop. Participants sit at long white tables with black chairs, materials like birch bark, dyed porcupine quills, and thread strewn across the surfaces.
