Basically same. This was her entire platform. Entire. There's no other policy on her website besides this.

These numbers are crazy. I live in Texas and never saw a single pro-Hinojosa ad. I never saw a Hinojosa supporter in person or online (i.e. among Facebook normies). I never met a person who even knew who she was. And my wife and I know a good number of libs and can generally see where there is organic support.

But she gets 2M more votes than Beto and blows Abbott out of the water? Somehow you have this groundswell in voter turnout for someone who no one ever talked about?

This seems odd. Definitely needs to be looked into.

As of today, more than 100,000 manufacturing jobs and 120,000 factory construction jobs have been added since President Trump returned to office.

Biden lost more than 200,000 factory jobs.

I'm sure the $47T Medicare for All Illegals, financed through crippling taxes, will bring on even more high paying jobs though.

Republicans lost our national message from 2024, which was (1) close the border, (2) drill baby drill, and (3) restore sanity. Because we solved it!

The Democrats picked their 2026 national message: affordability. Republicans said we'll do the same. But the problem is, you can't out Democrat a Democrat. You can't be more free than free.

Not only that, it missed a lurking feature of the affordability crisis: lack of hope and upward mobility. The group that swung the most from 2024 were young men in their 20s. Economic stress for people in their 20s? It's a fact of life to be poor in your 20s. But you don't feel the weight of it, ideally, because the idea is you're investing in yourself to be wealthier in your 30s+.

When people in their 20s start feeling their weight of their financial crunch, it's not necessarily the day to day costs (which, again, always suck for 20 year olds). It's a lack of upward mobility. The feeling that they'll indefinitely be struggling. That lends itself to disliking Washingtonians getting wealthy ("corruption"); being old and out of touch; or focusing on "irrelevant" or distant policy issues. If you're upwardly mobile yourself, you don't care *as much* whether a Swamp Creature is monetizing too.

Republicans are the party of the American Dream. Of opportunity, pioneering, self-reliance, and hard work paying off. This isn't "affordability." Mexico is affordable. We wouldn't want to live there because we want more than that. We want opportunity to thrive. Optimism was missing in the electorate, replaced by anger, resentment, and comparative gloom. It's a tough environment for long-term optimism to be sure: AI uncertainty, ballooning college costs with low value degrees, social media comparators, DEI unfairness, less dating/marriage due to a serious divide among the sexes, etc. But reigniting and re-inspiring young people on the American Dream is, I believe, the open economic lane for Republicans to recapture.

On the "culture war." I live in Texas and was inundated with "Talorico is for they/them" mailers, texts, and TV ads, at the expense of literally any other message. This missed the entire point of the issue from 2024.

Yes, single-sex sports are 80/20. But voters in 2024 weren't actually motivated out of passion to save women's sports. On paper sure; in reality it was deeper. They were tired of elitists in power looking down on their way of life as immoral and backwards. Bud Light hated its own "fratty" drinkers. Target turned an enjoyable "Target run" into a drag show. The Biden Admin hired an overweight male pretending to be a woman to be the arbiter of public health. LinkedIn asked that you provide pronouns. Institutions treated LGBTQ as a minority status for admission. (Even today, the WNBA has seized this mightiness and treated women's rights advocates with utter disdain.)

Kamala embodied that "otherness." The issue proved she's just not regular like us. The 2024 vote was a return to normalcy. Americans voted it's perfectly moral and normal to know what a woman is, elitists be damned.

The 2026 flavor treated voters as if they were motivated by the issue itself. Like Texans were going to wake up and vote on women's prisons and sports. To be sure, Texans are on the right side of this issue. But they entirely missed the point. The 2024 vote was backlash against elitist cultural domination.

For all the economic voters who punished Republicans, just remember:
(1) Poverty and child poverty are at an all time low.
(2) GDP per capita is at an all time high.
(3) The murder rate is lowest recorded.
(4) Real median income is up to an all-time high of $88,000.
(5) U.S. crude output is at an all time high. Natural gas production also at an all time high.

The Dems promised free everything. We'll see which track pulls more Americans up.

But you already know.
