Here's what it costs to build a life in this state: $834,000. Over half a million for a home. Nearly $144,000 to send two kids to college. The most expensive weddings in America. Almost $76,000 a year just to keep the lights on and food on the table.

That's not an accident - that’s a choice Trenton makes every year. This year, Trenton Democrats chose a record $60.75 billion budget and $765 million in new taxes, while cutting the programs that were supposed to give you relief.

Democrats are pricing New Jersey families out of their own state and Tuesday’s results don’t change that.

We faced strong national headwinds like the rest of the country and unfortunately our great candidates were victims of the national impact.

I thank Congressmen Kean and Van Drew for their dedicated service to our country, and I congratulate Congressman Smith on his victory. I also want to thank all of our candidates who ran this year and the volunteers who worked countless hours on all of our campaigns.
