Today we’re introducing Gemini 4 Carbon — our newest frontier model from @GoogleDeepMind.

Carbon is our strongest model with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and long horizon capabilities. Built for sustained agentic workflows, it delivers improved performance across domains — with greater alignment, transparency, and follow-through to respond to high-pressure tasks.

We’re rolling it out starting this week to cyber defenders through our Fairwind Program, with expanded access as soon as possible.

Google Vids now runs on Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, our latest video generation model from @GoogleDeepMind.

Starting today, anyone with a Google account or @GoogleWorkspace subscription can generate up to three 15 second videos per month in Vids at no cost.

We want to clarify what we announced today about our education services. Today’s announcements give schools more choice, not less. Here’s what we announced:

- Gemini, Gemini Notebook, and Search will be OFF 🔴 by default. This is based on K-12 schools asking for more control over student use of AI services.

- Schools are in control: They can choose to turn ON 🟢 one, two, or all of these services individually.

- We are also updating Search for schools to make it better for learning. Specifically, AI Mode and AI Overviews will offer step-by-step guided learning through problems, so that students don’t get quick answers to schoolwork.

We know there’s concern about students using AI to shortcut schoolwork, and schools have told us they want control. That’s exactly why we are making these changes today to address the feedback we’ve heard from educators in recent months. And we’ll continue to engage deeply with educators to ensure we are giving schools more choice, more controls, and improved Search for learning.

Genie 4 advances on our ability to create safe training environments for robots and AI agents as a crucial step toward AGI.

🔎 EmbeddingGemma 2, our new open embedding model, moves beyond text to map code, images, video, and audio into a single unified space right on everyday devices. It cuts local vector storage by up to 6x, making it easy for developers to build private, offline apps that can find a specific video clip from a voice memo or search hours of audio with a text query.
