This time, I'd like to introduce the five-story pagoda at Hokan-ji Temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto, commonly known as the Yasaka Pagoda. In the game, you can enter the pagoda and climb to the upper stories. We were allowed inside to conduct research, because of its inclusion in the game. Buddhist statues and precious cultural artifacts are enshrined inside of the pagoda, which we were able to view up close. We climbed the stairs inside the pagoda and gazed out over the charming streetscape of Kyoto. Whilst some structural elements of the pagoda had been adjusted in-game to make it more playable, we've taken great care to preserve the authentic atmosphere of the real-life location.
Please do try climbing it in the game and savour the wonderful views of Kyoto 😀
