Went to a Barnes and Noble's last night. This is what the majority of the books look like. Between this and manga, that was about all they had. Nothing that would interest boys or men in the fiction section. People wonder why "boys don't read"...because no one writes for them

Not only can this man write, now he can make ads! Why haven't you bought his books yet?
It should have been a simple job: one prisoner, one train, one paycheck.View quoted post on X
Instead, a double-crossing freelancer springs the outlaw James Hawthorne in a bloody ambush, and freelancer Matthew Cole is left chasing the gang across the Martian desert, stuck with his competition from the last job.
Matthew works alone. He takes the jobs nobody else will, like smuggling an escaped slave off Europa in time for the man's daughter's wedding. He keeps his conscience clean and his account nearly empty, and he never lets anyone depend on him.
It doesn't last. One job at a time, his ship, the Sparrow, starts filling up:
The Shield Maiden. Seven feet of earth-tech power armor, a grav-plate shield, and a reputation to protect.
The Doctor. A widow with a syndicate's price on her head, who treats the Sparrow like a patient in poor health.
The Enforcer. Seventeen, foul-tempered, and loyal to only one person: his little sister.
The Kid. A Ceres street thief, not quite thirteen, who's never had a home. She's starting to think the Sparrow might be one.
It's been a century since Moses, the AI that carried humanity to the stars, vanished with only an error message. The colonies run on failing tech, and slavers are back in business. Every job pulls the crew deeper: into syndicate grudges, into the wreckage Moses left behind, and toward a man from Matthew's past he hoped never to see again.
Some jobs you can walk away from. Some people you can't.
Book 1 of the complete six-book After Moses series.
"I'm probably going to take some heat for this, but I'll say it anyway: After Moses is better than Firefly, better than Star Trek, and if you question if that's even possible, this is for you." — Trevor Denning, Upstream Reviews
Frankly, these five minutes would be better spent than any time wasted on that absolute howler of a book.

The Great Gatsby as a police procedural, BUT-
In the first five minutes Gatsby is arrested for bootlegging.
And then?
Credits.
Islam's entire existence has been a war against literally everyone who isn't Muslim and frequently against other Muslims over who the caliph should be, or simply because they can. This is very badly done propaganda if you know even a little about Islamic history.
No Muslim country has ever dropped a nuclear bomb. No Muslim country has ever launched a world war. Still, Islam is branded the violent religion.View quoted post on X
