Protecting the Future of Pittsburgh’s Pension System
IAFF Local No. 1 President Ralph Sicuro expressed concerns over the City’s proposal to reduce pension contributions by $50 million.
“Anytime we’re going to reduce contributions into the pension fund, everybody — active and retired employees — should be concerned,” Sicuro stated.
“As a matter of fact, all citizens should be concerned. If we’re not careful with decisions like this, it could push off problems to the next generation of taxpayers in the city of Pittsburgh.”
