Racing Victoria extends its condolences to the family and friends of former long-serving clerk of the course Peter Gray following his recent passing.View quoted post on X
Peter was well known throughout the racing industry as both a trainer and clerk of the course, combining his knowledge and love of horses while working as a clerk primarily at Ballarat and across the Wimmera region. He remained in the role until 2020.
He passed his passion for thoroughbreds on to his two children, with both daughter Remi and son Bede following in his footsteps to work as clerks of the course.
Remi and Bede are both clerking today at Ararat Gold Cup Day, at the racecourse where Peter also served as track manager.
A much-loved and highly respected member of Victoria's racing community, Peter will be fondly remembered. Our condolences go out to Remi, Bede, wife Andrea and all who knew him.
