Thanks @JCO_ASCO for highlighting our article on on age, IDH status, and prognosis in lower grade gliomas. Age >40 is a surrogate for IDH status but not an independent prognostic factor in IDH-mutant glioma and does not predict benefit from CRT. Age is not an indication for CRT.

This is great. It’s a little humorous and obvious but grateful that somebody actually did the analysis. Multi-D authorship should rly be required for any cross-discipline study, esp if controversial. I think rad onc suffers from bias due to fewer seats at MTB, expert panels, etc

Does author specialty shape conclusions?

@JNCI_Now found urology-led authorship was linked to pro-prostatectomy conclusions in 105 studies comparing surgery vs radiation for #ProstateCancer.

A new PNAS paper says the people around you may literally accelerate your biological aging.

Each additional “hassler” in your social network was linked to:

• 1.5% faster epigenetic aging
• ~9 months older biological age
• higher inflammation
• worse physical + mental health

Choose your circle carefully.
