Mercy for criminals. Cruelty for victims. Donald Trump calls it justice.

A new CBS News investigation found that since January 2025, Trump's pardons and acts of clemency have wiped out at least $119 million in court-ordered restitution owed to victims of crimes.

We're talking about families who lost their life savings, elderly Americans who were defrauded of money they needed for retirement and nursing home care, and small businesses that were cheated out of their hard-earned money.

These victims were promised restitution through our justice system. But with the stroke of a pen, Trump erased those obligations, leaving thousands of victims with little hope of ever recovering what they lost.

The convicted criminals get to walk free. The victims get nothing.

Presidential mercy should never come at the expense of victims. That's why I'm fighting to rein in the pardon power and prevent abuses like these. I support a constitutional amendment to do just that.

Corruption, corruption. Read all about it!

ProPublica lays it out perfectly: “Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, who is heavily invested in the AI industry, is leading the charge to allow tech companies to build data centers on the public lands he oversees.”

Let that sink in.

Burgum has between $18.1 million and $64.4 million invested in AI companies. And now he's pushing to open up OUR public lands to the very industry in which he has millions invested.

ProPublica found a federal report from earlier this year that identified at least 91.3 MILLION acres of public land that could potentially host data centers. That's an area roughly the size of Montana.

They're laying the groundwork to open up enormous stretches of OUR public lands to the AI industry and hoping the American people won't notice.

These lands belong to the American people. They are not a playground for wealthy government officials to advance their own financial interests.

We need answers, and come January, you have my word: We will get them.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are at it again. Corruption and conflicts of interest. This family just can't help itself.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have indirect ownership stakes in Kaz Resources, a tungsten mining company in Kazakhstan preparing to go public at a $2 BILLION valuation.

And guess what? Two federal agencies have issued letters of interest for up to $1.6 BILLION in financing for the project. That funding hasn't been approved yet.

The Trump brothers' ownership stakes could be worth nearly $20 MILLION if the company reaches its proposed valuation. The federal government would be helping to make this happen!

The brothers say they're passive investors with no involvement in the negotiations.

But that doesn't eliminate the potential conflict of interest.

How can the American people be confident that government financing decisions are being made in the public interest when the President's own family stands to profit?

Congress needs to investigate these financial arrangements and determine whether the Trump family's business interests are benefiting from federal decisions.

Public office should be about serving the American people, NOT creating opportunities for the President's family to enrich themselves.

Be honest with me: Do we think this administration has ever read the Hatch Act? I'm thinking not.

Just days before Election Day, the IRS and Social Security Administration sent out mass emails praising Donald Trump and his administration.

That's right. Two taxpayer-funded federal agencies, which are supposed to be nonpartisan, decided that the days leading up to an election were the perfect time to send Americans emails promoting Donald Trump's political agenda.

And here's what makes this even more ridiculous.

The IRS somehow found the time to send emails bragging about Trump's "historic tax cuts," but has spent months delaying the release of tax data that would help Americans see who actually benefited from them.

Funny how that works. But here's the bigger problem.

The Hatch Act restricts federal employees from engaging in partisan political activity while performing their official duties. These emails raise serious questions about whether that law was violated.

The American people deserve answers about who authorized these messages and whether federal resources were improperly used for political purposes.

The IRS and Social Security Administration are supposed to serve the American people, not act as extensions of Donald Trump's political operation.

Days after voters across the country totally repudiated an agenda led in no small part by Stephen Miller, Donald Trump responded by making Miller his White House Chief of Staff.

Miller's extremism reaches well beyond immigration, though that is where families have felt it most. He set an arbitrary quota of 3,000 ICE arrests a day and pushed for one million deportations a year. Rather than focus on the “worst of the worst” he has done irreparable harm to families and communities.

He has said the White House was "actively looking at" suspending habeas corpus, one of the oldest protections in our Constitution. He vowed to turn the Justice Department and Homeland Security against political opponents he branded a terror movement, promising to "disrupt, dismantle and destroy" them.

Americans of every political stripe believe in due process, free speech, and a government that answers to the Constitution. Stephen Miller has spent his career treating those values as obstacles.

For two years he has operated without real checks from Congress. That ends in January.

A new majority will have the power to investigate, to subpoena, and to follow the money. Stephen Miller will answer for his policies.

He may be getting a bigger office. He will also be getting a lot more scrutiny.
Accountability is coming, and I intend to help deliver it.
