Great visit to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Alice today to meet with staff and announce $1.8M in funding for the hospital through the Rural Health Transformation Program!

Healthcare access remains a challenge for our rural Texas communities – making this investment a major win for the Alice community. By fighting chronic illness, training future doctors, and supporting local providers, this major investment will ensure every Texan can access the care they need.

When Mexico refused to deliver the water owed to Texas under the 1944 Water Treaty, I stepped up.

We had already lost Texas's last sugar mill, and our citrus industry was next.

I secured $280 million to save Texas citrus, but financial relief wasn't enough. Our farmers needed their water.

I met with President Trump at the White House and told him, "Mr. President, our farmers need their water."
We got straight to work.

As of Saturday, Mexico has met its requirement to deliver at least 350,000 acre-feet of water to South Texas this year. This is the first time since the first Trump administration that this milestone has been met two years in a row.

However, we will not let up our pressure until Mexico repays every bit of water they owe us.

Thank you, @SecRollins, for your leadership. Together, we have held Mexico accountable for the water owed to South Texas farmers.

While this is a step in the right direction, we will continue to keep up the pressure to secure deliveries on Mexico’s outstanding water debt.

Today marks the end of the 2026 water-cycle year under President Trump’s leadership, strengthened engagement on the 1944 U.S. Mexico Water Treaty, and working with President Sheinbaum, Mexico met its commitment to deliver at least 350,000 acre-feet of water this year.

Building upon last year’s delivery of more water in one year than during the entirety of the Biden administration, this means for the first time since the first Trump administration that this milestone has been met two years in a row!

But the work is NOT done. Continued, reliable water deliveries and repayment of outstanding water debt remain critical for South Texas farmers and ranchers who depend on this water to sustain their operations and feed our nation.

Thank you to @SecRubio and his team for their strong partnership. Despite the immense challenge of limited resources and complex negotiations, together we are delivering for American agriculture and safeguarding the water our producers need!

Political violence has no place in our country, and I am grateful to federal law enforcement for their swift action in keeping everyone safe. My thoughts and prayers are with @RepKeithSelf and his family.
