When I served in the Idaho Legislature, one thing was always abundantly clear—legislation and debate must always be limited to a single subject.

It goes without saying, but in D.C., that is not how things are run, and I believe that needs to change.

I have reintroduced the One Subject at a Time Act, H.R. 4324, which will focus every bill the U.S. Congress considers on a single subject, ensuring each topic receives a separate vote.

My staff and I had the opportunity to visit Dworshak Dam, part of the Walla Walla District, and see firsthand the important work being done to support recreation and wildlife, mitigate flood risks, and provide reliable hydropower.

Dworshak Dam is the third-tallest dam in the United States and supports the world's largest steelhead hatchery. It plays an important role in our state, and I appreciate the hard work that goes into maintaining its many benefits for Idahoans.

If you haven't had the chance to visit, I highly recommend making the trip and experiencing one of Idaho's great destinations!

Rosie the Riveters played a vital role in supporting the war effort during World War II, demonstrating the service, sacrifice, and patriotism of American women.

I am proud to co-lead H.R. 2290, the World War II Women’s Memorial Location Act, which would establish a location in our nation’s capital for a memorial honoring these women and their contributions, with the project funded entirely through private donations.

The National Mall is a place that commemorates significant events and people throughout our nation’s history. The contributions of Rosie the Riveters deserve to be recognized among these lasting tributes to American history.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the tree alongside the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest team and learn more about the care and selection process behind this stunning 76-foot tree.

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Marge and Harty at their business, Hearthstone Bakery, in Kamiah, Idaho.

Over a wonderful meal, I enjoyed hearing the story behind their success and learning more about the hard work and dedication that have gone into building their business. At 85 years old, Marge and Harty continue to serve their community and provide jobs for 30 employees through their business ventures.

Marge and Harty embody the strong work ethic and community spirit that make Idaho so special!
