This is a landmark announcement for Poland, Shield AI, and the US. The reason why Poland is moving to invest in X-BAT is because it solves critical capability gaps- a multirole aircraft that can carry large strike weapons to strategic distances while being survivable in the air and on the ground.

The reason why US CCA's have not had a lot of international traction is because a that only carries a pair of air to air missiles is great for the US Air Force, but doesn't do anything for our allies and partners who have very little need for air to air capability yet have a much greater need for strategic strike capability and on the ground survivability.
