Institutions hold at least 3.9M BTC. Only ~1.5% of Bitcoin’s supply is active in lending and Bitcoin-native markets.

Tony DiCarlo wrote a report on that gap, Bitcoin's Awkward Age, and he’s heading to @Blockworks's Digital Asset Summit London next week.

If you’re there, find him.

One post. 100k+ views. The comments told the real story.

One of our team shared this on a subreddit: JPMorgan in 2017: “Bitcoin is a fraud.” JPMorgan in 2026: 10% a year for the next decade.

Some took it as a win:
“The biggest bank in the world used to say I was a crazy fool. Now they say I’m right.”

Others weren’t buying it:
“Because now they’re minting billions from it.”

One called the forecast “probably the most bearish thing I ever heard.”

A debate also broke whether it’s fair to dismiss JPMorgan in 2017 and cheer it now. The reply that stuck:
“I don’t need JP Morgan to agree with me.”

Roughly a third of the comments questioned banks and their motives.

Wall Street's view of Bitcoin has changed. Bitcoiners' view of Wall Street? Not so much.

What do you make of it?

“Rather than a hedge, it provides diversification.”

@ldnbtc's CEO @hewiebtc explains why the company holds both gold and Bitcoin, and what their recent price movements tell us.

Our latest report, Bitcoin's Awkward Age, explores what Bitcoin can learn from gold, including the importance of demand beyond its role as a store of value.

Day 1 at @bitcoinconfams and we're ready đŸ‡łđŸ‡±

Tony Dicarlo, @GoldenGatsby, Richard Green and @eleanor_RColl are here for the next two days.

Tony is on the Orange Stage with @RussJacobsen, @TychoOnnasch and @tierotiero asking where Bitcoin stops being Bitcoin. Sam is recording with the @AntidoteBTC podcast. Tonight, we’ll all be at Whale Night.

If you’re here, come find us and grab a copy of Tony’s report, Bitcoin’s Awkward Age. It looks at where Bitcoin’s next wave of demand comes from: putting it to work in finance, not just holding it.
