What a journey. Since the @CadreRE sale, I’ve been reflecting—not just on the highs & hard lessons, but on the people who made it all possible. From my family in Louisiana to my Cadre family world-wide, I have learned that No one builds anything worthwhile alone. I recently discussed my journey on the @mastersofscale podcast.

Thank you to my family, the Cadre team, and every mentor, investor & partner who lifted me up—from the late-night cleaning crews to friends and partners like @jaredkushner , @JoshuaKushner , @mcuban , @darrenwalker, @vkhosla, @aplusk and so many more!

I wouldn’t be here without your support and I can’t wait to share more about what I’m building next as I continue to focus on breaking barriers & opening doors while creating access where it's needed most.

I’ve known @jaredkushner for nearly 20 years. We worked in the trenches, away from the headlines. I’ve seen him build what most wouldn’t dare attempt. This is personal, not political. I’m proud to stand by my friends. Disagreement is never an excuse to abandon truth or compassion.

For the last 10 years, I have ignored false and misleading stories about me and focused on the work.

But the cycle has gotten out of control where old lies get repeated as fact, new ones get added, and the record becomes increasingly distorted.

So from time to time, I’m going to respond, not to every allegation. But when the truth matters, I’ll put the facts and supporting information out publicly, and people can judge for themselves.

The thing that frustrates you most every day is often the business nobody has built yet.

At @CadreRE it was often the numbers. Eleven years, a wide-open front door, and behind it systems that never agreed with each other.

I treated it as a cost of doing business. It was the opportunity. And an even greater opportunity applied to private credit.

Talent exists everywhere. Access and infrastructure do not.

From Baton Rouge to my first business at 13, @CadreRE and now @ellis_company, I’ve kept building the systems I once needed.

Grateful to @AfroTech for the profile and everyone building with us.

At @Cadre, I saw the gap firsthand. Large “institutional” firms built their own systems. But everyone else had to deliver with fewer resources, spreadsheets and manual work.

“Institutional” should describe a standard, not a budget.

That conviction became @ellis_company
