💡Security Council Report’s (@SCRtweets) new research report, “𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒏”, examines one of the Council’s most consequential informal working methods. It analyses how penholding shapes drafting, negotiation, leadership, and the distribution of power within the Council.

This morning (6 November), @SCRtweets ED @skandiah provided introductory remarks at the 24th annual “Hitting the Ground Running” workshop for incoming #UNSC members, which is organised by @FinlandUN in cooperation with @SCRtweets and @UNDPPA Security Council Affairs Division (SCAD).

As in previous years, the workshop provided an informal environment for candid discussion about the inner workings of the Security Council.
