Most people think of vaccines to prevent a disease, but did you know that researchers are testing different types of vaccines to treat an existing cancer? #StandUpToCancer is proud to have funded the work of two talented and dedicated researchers, @TheVinodLab and @BenGrbm of @MSKCancerCenter, who have been pioneers in the development of treatment vaccines for pancreatic cancer. Their research represents a major potential breakthrough against one of the most fatal cancers.

Andy Lyons has a “generations-long” family history of pancreatic cancer that has claimed the lives of nearly all of his immediate family. So, more than 20 years ago, Andy took matters into his own hands. He joined a familial cancer study that included routine imaging checks for signs of pancreatic cancer. In 2021, Andy received his own diagnosis. Thankfully, it was caught early and, with treatment, he’s now cancer-free. “Understanding your family history of cancer is so important. It may save your life. I'm living proof of that.” 🧡
