π Vertical Jump = how much power an athlete can produce.
β‘ RSI (Reactive Strength Index) = how quickly they can use that power.
Two athletes can jump the same height and have very different RSI scores.
Why?
Because RSI factors in ground contact time. The athlete who can absorb force and get back off the ground faster is demonstrating greater reactive strength.
That's why testing both matters:
β Vertical Jump β Force & Power β RSI β Reactivity & Elasticity
A high jump doesn't always mean an athlete is highly reactive.
A strong RSI doesn't always mean an athlete can produce high levels of force.
The best athletes develop both.
