Stetson University’s top-ranked business students and faculty, along with business, performance and tech experts, welcomed the first Collegiate Sales Management Invitational (CSMI) cohort of business students from across the United States and Canada to campus Oct. 22-24 for a first-of-its-kind competition.

The inaugural competition concluded with growing enthusiasm from attending institutions and industry partners, reinforcing CSMI’s role as a new destination for sales management education and competition. We look forward to welcoming teams back to CSMI next year!

Many thanks to Brown & Brown and Love’s Travel Stops for their generous support.

Emotions overflowed as Stetson University celebrated Matt’s Point — a loving memorial and one of the first freshwater living shorelines in Florida. A tribute to Matt Oyler '05, the nephew of Stetson President Christopher F. Roellke, Matt’s Point Living Shoreline was created to serve as a laboratory where students and researchers can study freshwater ecosystems.

Thank you to the Orlando Business Journal for featuring Stetson’s Roland George Investments Program.

Students in the program manage an $11.5 million portfolio, gaining hands-on experience that trains them for careers on Wall Street and in other finance careers. Finance was ranked as the most promising career path for 32% of global survey respondents, according to the article.

Stetson’s School of Business Administration is expanding its finance programs. The school launched an investment center this year to bring together the Roland George program; the student-led Hatter Angels Investment Program, which focuses on venture capital and private market investments; the Certified Financial Planning program, with a focus on wealth management; and a new Quantitative program centered on analytics.

The story comes as students in the Roland George Investments Program will pitch their best stock ideas from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando.

Five student teams will present equity research recommendations built around this year’s theme, “New Energy Transition.” The teams will make the case for American Superconductor (AMSC), MP Materials (MP), MYR Group (MYRG), Powell Industries (POWL) and nVent Electric (NVT). The audience will vote for the three best presentations, and the top three teams will receive cash prizes.

The second annual RGIP Showcase in Orlando is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and an RSVP is required at bit.ly/4z4ZHbp
