We're celebrating the opening of Sutter Children's Urgent Care and Diagnostic Imaging in Elk Grove, bringing more convenient, high-quality care closer to home for local families.

As the first Sutter Children's Urgent Care in the Greater Sacramento Division, the new location offers same-day care for children from birth through age 17, along with diagnostic imaging services for both kids and adults.

From a special ribbon cutting to a first look inside the new space, it was a wonderful celebration of the care teams and community members who helped bring this milestone to life.

This #Movember, we're highlighting more options for men facing prostate cancer. 💙

A growing class of treatments known as focal therapies is offering some patients a middle ground between active surveillance and surgery or radiation. By targeting cancer while preserving as much of the prostate as possible, these treatments offer an alternative to whole-gland treatment for some patients.

Sutter Health urologists Dr. Surat Phonsombat and Dr. Tin Ngo are offering two approaches, high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and irreversible electroporation (IRE), as part of individualized prostate cancer care.

“It’s not one-plan-fits-all,” Dr. Phonsombat said. “Every time we have a new prostate cancer patient, we provide individualized care to that patient.”

Sutter Health’s CPMC has opened The Cove, a specialized small baby unit within its NICU at the Van Ness campus, designed to care for extremely premature infants born before 29 weeks gestation or weighing less than 1,000 grams.

With quieter, darker rooms that support infant development and allow families to stay close, The Cove brings together a specially designed environment, specialized care protocols and a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the unique needs of these vulnerable newborns.

Made possible with support from the Deikel Family Foundation, this new unit is helping strengthen access to highly specialized neonatal care for babies and families throughout the Bay Area and surrounding communities.
