Mr. David Hargrove has been a valued member of the @MLK_Elem_TCS family for nearly seven years, and based on the information we've gathered, he may not have missed a single day of work during that time!

Not only does Mr. Hargrove show up consistently, but he arrives around 6:30 a.m. each day, ready to work and provide exceptional support to our scholars in the Exceptional Education (SPED) unit. His dedication, dependability and commitment to our students are truly remarkable.

Today, we celebrate an employee who consistently goes above and beyond for our students while also highlighting the importance of dedication, dependability and a strong commitment to being present for those who count on us.

Sometimes, the individuals who quietly show up every single day, work behind the scenes and give their very best are the ones whose stories deserve to be celebrated the most. Mr. Hargrove is certainly one of them! He is Everyday Amazing!!

Career exploration starts early! Annual Safety Summit at TCS

Tuscaloosa City Schools believes in taking a proactive approach to school safety. This fall, TCS brought in @HudgensMolly to speak with principals and assistant principals during its annual Safety Summit.

Hudgens, a school counselor at Sycamore Middle School in Tennessee, shared her experience recognizing concerning warning signs in a student several years ago. Drawing on research into the warning signs associated with the Columbine school shooting, Hudgens recognized indicators that prompted her to take action. Her intervention helped de-escalate the situation and prevent a potential tragedy.

School leaders also had the opportunity to hear from local and federal law enforcement officials, gaining additional insight into recognizing potential threats and keeping school communities safe.
